Reach for the Stars

Today it's time for a new challenge at Sassy Studio Designs and this week the challenge is Stars in My Eyes.  I have used Sassy Carrie and colored her with Copics.  I have punched stars and my sentiment, added burlap roses and a ribbon.  The die cut is from Lea'abilities.  I think this will make a great graduation card.

Now head over to the Sassy Studio Designs site and see what the rest of the DT has created and join in our challenge this week.  This should be an easy one.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Congratulations

It's Monday and time for another challenge at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.  This week our challenge is "Paper Piecing" and we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  This is my first try at paper piecing and I will have to do it again. I loved it.  I have used "Isabella with stroller" and colored her with Copics of course and I have paper pieced her dress, tights, and the stroller.  I painted fingernail polish over a couple of brads that were in my stash and they came close to the color I was looking for.  I just love turquoise and yellow together, don't you?  I have added a corner flourish cut using a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is punched using a Stampin' Up punch and the papers were from my stash.  My youngest sister just had a baby boy last week and her daughter is now the big sister.  I have the perfect card to give her.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.  Oh yeah don't forget to stop over at Tammy's Scraping Corner and see what the rest of the DT has created and we have some new designers to check out also. And join in this fun challenge.  I will enter this card in the following challenges...

Sassy Studio Designs Blog Hop -- Green With Envy

Welcome to day two of " Green With Envy Blog Hop" For Sassy Studio Designs and of course there will be prizes.  All you need to do is leave a comment on each blog along the hop and you will have a chance to win one favorite image used by a DT member.  If your right on track, you should have arrived here from my Sassy Sister Kates site.   I have picked the "Ballroom Babe" image she is such a beauty and we were to add a touch of green somewhere so I have colored her with Copics in a beautiful green dress and cut her out with a Spellbinders Oval Die and Spellbinders Moroccan Motifs in green behind her. The butterflies are from Cheery Lynn Dies.  I have roses from I Am Roses and papers from my stash.  The swirls under the roses are a die from Marianne Designs.  My greeting is 'Spring is in the Air' and computer generated.

Make sure and leave me a comment for a chance to win this great image, and then hop along over to see what another of my sassy sisters, Jacki has created.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Isn't It Great

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all.  It's Thursday and time for another challenge at Sassy Studio Designs.  This week we are using "Pink, Red, and White."  I have used the Sassy Cupid and colored her with Copics.  I have a new die from Memory Box (and I love it) it's the flourish I have used several times behind the scalloped die which is from Spellbinders.  I have punched the greeting with another favorite, a Stampin' Up punch.  The red hearts are a Martha Stewart all over the page punch, which was punched on the pink paper and the red is the back layer.  Then I finished it off with a sheer pink bow.

Best Friends

It's Monday again and that means another challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and this week the challenge is "Handmade Embellishments."  Our sponsor this week is Eureka and I have used two Eureka images on my card.  First I have colored"Best Friends" with Copics and then used their "Filigree Pattern" to cut and fold my peach colored embellishments. I am ready for spring and I think this card has a spring feel to it.  I also made the flowers for this card and you can see part the tool I made to do the flowers below.

Now here are a few notes on how I made the flowers for my card.

I found a instruction out on the web that said to stick pins into cardboard to make these flowers; but that didn't work well for me.  So I took a wine cork and pushed eight small nails into it trying to stay fairly even.  Then you wrap the yarns or threads (I used a crochet thread) around nails  in a figure 8 type pattern moving across the top of the cork.  I did about three times around and then you have to tie or sew the center together so the flower doesn't fall apart when you take it off the cork.  You can find better instructions HERE or HERE; both of these ladies have very good instructions.  For my flowers I put the nails close to the top of the cork for the smaller flowers and and about half way down the cork for the larger one.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Hugs & Kisses

It's time for another challenge at Come and Get It and this week it's HEARTS.  My image is the "Hugs & Kisses" and she was a freebie from Saturated Canary a week or so ago, and isn't she just the cutest thing you've seen?  I have colored her with Copics and added some hearts punched with an Emagination punch I've had for years.  The edges are punched with a Stampin' Up edge and corner punch.  I wrote the greeting with a white Souffle pen.  This card is for one of my grand daughters and I will need to get another done for the other grand daughter and I for the grand son.  I guess I had better get back to the craft table.

Head on over to Come and Get It and see what the DT has created and join in this fun challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.  I will be entering the following challenges with this card.....

Valentine Cards

Happy Monday, and time for a new challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner.  This week is "Valentine Cards."  Our sponsors this week are QKR Stampede and Delicious Doodles.  My first card is made from the image called "Just Purrfect" from Delicious Doodles and is colored with Copics.  I have cut two hearts using a Joy Craft heart die and I printed my greeting on cardstock and added another layer between the die and the printed layer of cardstock so I would only get a textured heart for  the third one and it would  not be completely cut out.  The flourishes in the corners are the extra pieces left over from an EK Success punch used on another project.  I like the pinks and browns together,

I will be entering this card in the following challenges...
Creative Corner Challenge - Love & Hearts
Digi Haven - Love or Valentines
Sweet n Sassy Digi - Valentine's Day-Love
LadyBug Crafts - Valentine's Day/ Love
GingerLoft Challenge - Love is in the Air

My second card is made using this adorable image called  "Chocolate Kisses" from QKR Stampede and is also colored with Copics.  I have layered this card is several layers of pink cardstock.  I am very happy with my Joy Craft heart die and used it again for this card.  I have also used two of the Romantic Rectangle dies from Spellbinders.  He looks like a love struck bear for sure.

Now It's time to head over to Tammy's Scrapin Corner and see what the rest of the DT has created and join in the challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.  I will be entering this card in  the following challenges...

Get Well

Today Come and Get It has a "Sketch" challenge and this is my  CAS card that I made for my grand daughter Thianna.  She says "Grandma,  how come you don't make a card when someone is sick?"  And I told her that I do and she says, "but I'm sick."  So this card is just for her while she has flu symptoms. I have used a free image from Digi Garden that is colored with Copics and a computer generated greeting.  I added several layers of cardstock and a red bow with a button.  She loved her "Get Well Card."

So stop over at Come and Get It and see what the rest of the DT has created and join in this challenge.  Thanks for looking and have a great day.
