Simple Christmas Cards

Here are a few more of the Christmas cards I have been working on. These use the Merry Christmas Script die from Poppystamps and the Happy Holly Corner die from Memory Box. I did them in a gray & mint green, burgundy & cream, and burgundy & white.  Most of the cards I used only the outside line area of the holly and added it to each card along with the words.

On the card on the right side in this photo I used the negative space for the card front. I place my dies in the area I wanted them and used a small piece of removable tape ran them through the big shot and then pulled the die cut away and glued the small areas of the words where they should be and the holly outline was removed and the leaves and circles are left. You can see the lines on the leaves if you look closely.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Poinsettia Christmas Cards

Here are a couple more Christmas cards and I have used the  Merry Christmas die from a Tim Holtz holiday words set from Sizzix and the Poinsettia Die from Sue Wilson. For the first version I added the die cut to the card stock and and for the second version I cut the dies from my red card stock and let the white card stock show through. Except for the single images I carefully cut from the strip of poinsettias.

You know me and how I love to cut everything. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

More Christmas Cards

I have another assortment of Christmas cards, these are made using mostly the same dies and just changed the papers I used. The Jingle Bells are from Lil Inkers, the pine branch is from from Impression Obsession, and the Merry Christmas is from a Tim Holtz holiday words set from Sizzix. The papers are all leftovers from previous years. Then I have added some fine gold cord for the bells to hang from. This first card the bells are cut from gold yardstick. The papers are a muted red layers on a crumb cake card stock.

This card has a cream and bluegreen snowflake paper and is also layered on crumb cake card stock, and the bells are a textured cream card stock that I love. It is a heavy weight and has a shine and texture on it. I wish I could remember where I bought it because I could definitely use more of it.

This last version I have used a sand colored card stock with more muted red papers. The die on this card is the pine bough from Die Namites that I cut into 2 sections so I used half of it on this card. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Christmas Cards

Since breaking my kneecap I have not been able to sit in my card making area for over a month, (I was having withdrawl symptoms) and now that it is almost healed I am able to sit for a while without my brace so I have been busy making Christmas Cards and I have a couple to show you today. Lately I have loved using just a touch of gold and this card has gold for the letters of joy and the music is printed in gold. I used the Joy die set from Sue Wilson. It is so pretty. The paper is from a Recollections Christmas pad left over from a couple of years ago when I wasn't into so much gold.

For this version I used the same die and used burgundy card stock below the letters and again in the layer beneath the white layer. I have a difficult time when photographing white cards, even with my light box it has an off white color. Thanks for looking and have a great day

QKR Stampede Challenge #218 Give Thanks

QKR Stampede has a new challenge and this week the challenge is  "Give Thanks."  I have colored with Copics and cut out using a Spellbinders die. I did fussy cut the leaves that didn't fit into the die cut area. The acorns die cut using the Winter Florals collection from Tattered Lace and the thanks is from Lil Inkers. I love this thanks die, it cuts every time with a single pass. I think this turkey looks extremely happy to have survived another thanksgiving.
